Test Engineer or Test Systems Engineer – Shape the Role to Fit Your Skills!

We are seeking a curious, technology-driven, and problem-solving person to join our operation unit organization at Stord, Norway. Your primary focus will be on testing our marine frequency converters in our factory in addition to other testing facilities if needed.

The position can be molded according to your background, skills and interests.

Your responsibilities as test engineer

  • Project Testing & Validation:
    • Execute Internal Acceptance Test (IAT) and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of our products.
    • Test report creation and test result acceptance
  • Component Verification & Analysis:
    • Execute various component verification initiated by R&D and Product Management

Your responsibilities as a test systems engineer

  • Develop test infrastructure to handle both current project requirements and future advancements
  • Manage test equipment and factory automation.
  • Planning tests and activities in cooperation with factory manager and test manager.
  • Development of testing process
  • Participate in testing
  • Hosting the customer during FAT is needed.

We appreciate

  • Technical know-how of frequency converters
  • Experience with PLCs – hardware and software
  • Good communication skills, both Norwegian and English
  • Teamwork experience
  • Effective time-management skills and self-motivation

Test Engineer:
Candidates should have either practical experience as an electrician or a similar hands-on technical background, or hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field. A solid understanding of electrical systems and control logic is essential for this role.

Test Systems Engineer:
Significant relevant experience can compensate for a lack of formal education. However, this role requires a higher level of technical expertise and system design. Preferably the candidate holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field, with a focus on system development, automation, and infrastructure design. Experience in developing test systems, automation software, and managing complex testing environments is highly desirable.
